United Events to take part in the ‘State of Industry’ panel debate
United Events will be attending the Sustainable Events Summit as one of the lead participants in the ‘State of the Industry’ panel debate.
United Events will be exploring developments in the industry and exchanging best practice across different organisations at the first ever Sustainable Events Summit on 24 January 2013. United Events’ participation at this event demonstrates the Club’s commitment to sustainability and being a leader in this field.
2012 has been a significant year of success for the Club’s sustainability efforts with a number of externally recognised achievements being awarded. United Events’ involvement in the Summit comes after the Club has achieved the ISO20121 standard earlier this year – becoming the first football club in England to achieve this new international certification for sustainability.
Manchester United has now realised the dream of achieving a treble in this field and become a major stadium in the UK to hold three major sustainability standards: The Carbon Trust Standard, ISO14001 and ISO20121.
Caroline McEleney, Head of United Events said: “United Events are excited to be taking part in the inaugural Sustainable Events Summit next year and we look forward to presenting the Club’s commitment to sustainability. Acting in a sustainable manner is a key commitment across the Club and I hope through this event we can further explore this subject and encourage others to learn from our approach.”
