United Events wins silver at MIMA awards

United Events, the team behind Manchester United Football Club’s conference and events facilities has been awarded silver at the Meeting Industry Marketing Awards 2012.
During a ceremony held on the 1st October at The Brewery, London, a panel of independent judges awarded United Events joint silver in the Best Website category, alongside the Sydney Convention Centre.
The annual MIMA ceremony celebrates high standards of marketing in the meeting and events industry and is organised by Meeting & Incentive Travel Magazine.
The website was redesigned last season when the Premiership club rebranded its conference and events arm to, United Events. The new website has been specifically designed to be user friendly whilst offering an engaging and relevant user experience. The bespoke site was commended by the MIMA panel for its bespoke engagement with its target audience, as well as offering its sales team a sustainable way of promoting the stadium’s facilities as it no longer relied on printed materials.
Manchester United’s Director of Venue, Karl Evans comments: ‘As Manchester United is one of the biggest brands in the world, it was important for United Events to have its own website to use as a vital tool in creating its own brand personality and raise awareness of the services offered to its key audiences. The new website is part of our ongoing strategy to make United Events a well-known brand in its own right and lot of hard work and dedication has gone into developing the now award winning site. I am delighted that this has been recognised by MIMA and very proud of the team involved.’
